Minutes:

Attending: Amy Cape, Bob Cape, Kathy Converse, Randy Converse, Susan Herr-Hoyman, Al Nettleton, Barb Park, Bob Park and Galen Smith

At the first meeting Ken Skog and Kathy Converse (current Social Action Committee members) reviewed the vision for the GS program and the overall structure and discussed the tasks/charges to the committee. Examples of the various tasks were provided.

We identified members interested in committee and specific tasks/actions.

A beginning attempt at the committee work was assigned. Apologies to those who had expressed interest and were not there or left early as we put your name on a task.

2) Communications plan: Bob Park, Mary Mullen
3) Congregational Assessment: Al Nettleton, Barb Park, Susan Herr Hoyman, Galen Smith
4) Personal Assessments: Randy Converse, Amy Cape, Marilyn Reucking

We are hoping to be ready to submit a request for candidacy in early 2009.

Hopefully more people will come to the next meeting and we can determine their interests. An email will be sent to potentially interested members.

The next GS committee meeting is October 14, at 7:00 PM. We will firm up the assignment of responsibilities and review any prepared written drafts.
